I had a great time at home with my family. I never get to spend as much time at home as I would like, but that makes my visits all the more special. After a few days it was time to hit the road. Part of the reason Tyler came to visit was not only so he could finally meet my family, but also to help my drive my car back up to Mass. We visited AAA got lots of maps and books and had planned our route so early-ish Wednesday morning we hit the road. The first days was the longest. We drove all the way from my house in DFW to Nashville. We made little stops along the way but 12 hours later, by the time we arrived we were tired!
Just one of the many scenery picts we took!
We made it!!
Since had limited time and wanted to make the best of it. So we freshened up and headed out to see and hear what we could. We stayed on Music Row which is a street full of funky little bars and shops. The next day we headed to the Country Music Hall of Fame! If you haven't guessed, I'm a pretty big country music fan, so this was a small dream come true. The Country Music Hall of Fame also has a pretty cool museum in it. After spending the morning poking around the museum we headed back out to Music Row for some lunch before hitting the road again!
Music Row
The band playing at the bar--They were really good! Not a bad view of the city out of hotel window
Country Music Hall of Fame
The actual Hall of Fame
Clearly we were having plenty of fun and this was only our fist stop of many! I'll be back working in the admissions office next week but ill be sure to post more of our cross country road trip soon!
